Brief
In November 2010, Watergun was commissioned by Stage Entertainment to produce the TV commercial for the musical ‘Les Misérables’, based on Victor Hugo’s novel. We needed to show the passion and epicness of the story in its 25th anniversary.
Idea and process
It was not the first time we worked in a theatre since we have already done commercials for ‘Saturday Night Fever’ and ‘Chicago’ but this time, the overwhelming dimension of the play demanded a special effort.
We set up a crew of the best camera operators, crane and rigs inside the theatre for 1 day capturing every single inch of action that happened during the play.
Beyond the video
The commercial helped ‘Les Misérables’ to stay successfully for a year in Madrid and then moved to Barcelona.
